Experience Tjønnås!
Are you looking for pure nature, fresh air, silence, and organic food? Perhaps it's been a while since you experienced complete silence?
We offer unique experiences at our organic small farm in Telemark, with a history dating back to 600-700 AD. Hear your own thoughts – with the occasional crow of a rooster, bleat of a sheep, or neigh of a horse in the background! Enjoy the view from a log cabin with a veranda. The bees hum in the incredibly beautiful flower meadow, collecting nectar for honey that you can take home with you.
For dinner, we serve, among other things, organic potatoes, pinnekjøtt (dried and salted lamb), fenalår (dried leg of lamb), sausages, flatbread, and kling (a type of pastry) produced on the farm, as well as moose, deer, and reindeer meat from the wilderness. Fresh eggs from free-range hens can be collected by you yourself.
Activities you can participate in include guided tours to historical sites and viewpoints in the area. Berry picking in the forest – blueberries, lingonberries, and cloudberries ripen throughout the summer. Afterwards, we make jam from the harvest! You can help plant potatoes, follow sheep and horses in the pasture, collect eggs, apples, and potatoes – depending on when you visit in the summer.
2 hours away, our neighbor will invite you to participate in baking bread in a stone oven. While the bread is baking, you will have the opportunity to see one of Telemark's finest medieval attics.
After a day full of exciting experiences and delicious food, you can rest comfortably in a traditional "kroneseng" (crown bed).
During your stay, you will have the chance to experience traditional Norwegian folk music through wooden flutes, the "hardingfele" (Norwegian violin), accordion and piano.
We accommodate 5-10 people from Thursday to Sunday.
Welcome!
